Project Overview:
Save-a-Bull Rescue's board of directors' goal was to go one step further than ‘rescue’ and reach out to our community with education about the importance of responsible pit bull ownership as a means to reduce the number of dogs that end up in rescue.
I helped develop and launch the Fix Your Pit program that started with an initial effort to raise $10,000 to fund four spay/neuter clinics in 2016. I created a marketing campaign to be executed on Give to the Max Day that included copy, graphics and a complete schedule of hourly content on our website and social media. We personally engaged the public, our supporters and volunteers and matching donors on social media during the 24 hour campaign and surpassed our fundraising goal by 25%.
Ongoing management of the program includes timely promotion of each clinic, reaching out to the community via grass-roots efforts, social media marketing and relationships with the local media. Great response to, and need for, the clinics required us to expand our offerings and number of clinics from just four in 2016, to 10 in 2020, to 10 per month all year long. We earned attention from the Stand Up for Pits Foundation who has since partnered with the rescue to offer even more free clinics.
